Ishawooa outfitters offer elk hunting in some of the most beautiful and rugged country in the Washakie Wilderness of Wyoming! Most of the elk hunting is done by horseback in which we ride and glass for elk, however there is also time when we need to get close to the elk and we walk. Therefore, it is important that you be in as good of shape as possible. 

Most elk hunts in area 56 & 59 are for Archery Elk Hunts which begin in September.

All elk Rifle hunts begin on October 1st and run until the 21st.

Our elk Trophy Hunts are late season usually in November and December. We also hunt areas 55, 56, 58, 59 and 121 for the big game hunters.

For elk hunters who wish to hunt for meat instead of horns, late cow permits are usually easier to draw. Our Cow Elk Hunts are based out of town instead of the wilderness camp.
